Rules for Competition Entry

NITON AND DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB COMPETITION RULES

1. Three competitions will be held monthly (monochrome prints, colour prints and digital images competition).

Entries may be home produced or trade processed.

A maximum of two entries per member in each of the competition categories will be accepted.

In order to encourage new work no print or digital image is to be more than four years old.

Monochrome prints which have been toned or coloured in any way are to be entered into the monochrome competition.

Only paid up members will be eligible to enter the monthly competitions.

2. All prints are to be mounted unless advised to the contrary at the previous meeting and the title written on the reverse.

The minimum print size is 75 ins. The maximum print size is to be A3 excluding an appropriately sized mount.

3. All entries/titles should be submitted to the Competition Secretary by either email, post or by telephone by 8pm on the Sunday prior to the competition evening. The digital image file, in jpeg format and titled should be forwarded to the nominated co-ordinator by email or other suitable medium (i.e. memory stick or CD) prior to the competition evening.

The Club reserves the right to charge the sum of 1 per competition to persistent late entrants who fail to submit their entries on time having given them one final warning.

4. Competition entries will be marked out of ten and half marks are acceptable.

The highest score from each member will be carried forward and added to the points gained in subsequent competitions for the annual points cup/trophy.

5. Prints and digital images entered in a monthly competition may not be entered into another competition in that season, i.e. September to December or January to April. A competition winner may not be entered into any further monthly internal competitions.

6. By entering a print or digital image, the entrant warrants that the image is their own work, taken by them.

7. The Competition Secretary and the Committee shall be final arbiters in any dispute.

8. If a club member judges a monthly competition an average mark will be awarded in each competition that the judge would normally.
